Master of the Graveyard is a song released by Akuno-P on May 9, 2010, in the Evils Forest album. It is part of the Four Endings series, serving as the leitmotif of the Master of the Graveyard.

PlotEdit

The two Servants open the song as they chant for people to respect their Master, with Evil's Forest as her feasting ground. They speak of how she was reborn as the ruler of the dead in Evil's Theater, calling her the "Evil Food Eater". The duo expresses their Master's wish to devour everything and begin the preparations to cook all intruders. The Master of the Graveyard welcomes someone into the graveyard, asking how they would like to be prepared. In the end, she states she will still eat them "to their last bone."

The song continues on to relate how the Gardener provides some "entertainment" for them, deciding to give themselves over to her for now but eventually she, too, will be devoured by the daunting woman. As the song ends, the Servants note that one day everything will end, but until that day, they will keep partying.

CompositionEdit

Kagamine Rin and Len's Act2 voicebanks are used primarily, with occasional radio filter and backing from MEIKO utilizing the VOCALOID voicebank. Bass guitar is used prolifically, along with synth drums, regular drums, and French horn; synthesizers are heard as well.

An instrumental opens up the song, accompanied by a rollicking bass, and the song's vocals officially begin at 0.13, followed by the opening chanting at 0.28. The song's melody drops at 0.42, and the first verse begins. By 1.10, the chorus begins, and fades into a second round of chanting. Several lines by MEIKO accompany the chanting. At 1.51, all music comes to a halt, but at 1.53, the music begins again with the second verse. At 2.22, the chorus is reprised, followed by an instrumental bridge at 2.37. At 2.50, the song switches key, but reverts at 3.05, with the third and final chorus immediately following. At 3.35, a piano melody can be heard, following the exact same melody as the chorus. At 3.47, the final chanting can be heard. At 4.00, additional drums are used, and at 4.13, only bass can be heard, in a similar fashion to the opening. The song ends at 4.17.

Abandoned! Cup! Beg! Crawl! Lose! Back! Lung! Ash!
Abandoned! Cup! Beg! Crawl! Lose! Back! Lung! Ash!

Honor and praise our own master
The forest’s graveyard is her feeding grounds
In the corrupted graveyard with a rotten stench hanging in the air
Our master’s name is the Evil Food Eater

Honor and praise the great master
In a small theatre in the middle of the graveyard
She was reborn as the ruler of the dead
Her name is the Evil Food Eater

Completely devour it all!
Everything in that world
An eternally unending dinner
Come, let’s begin
Preparation of the
Lost, pitiful intruders

Abandoned! Cup! Beg! Crawl! Lost! Back! Lung! Ash!
Abandoned! Cup! Beg! Crawl! Lost! Back! Lung! Ash!
Abandoned! Cup! Beg! Crawl! Lost! Back! Lung! Ash!
Abandoned! Cup! Beg! Crawl! Lost! Back! Lung! Ash!

“Ohohoho!
Welcome to Evil’s Forest.
First, would you like to be grilled?
Would you like to be boiled?
Or…Fufufu.
Oh well, be at your leisure.
In the end, down to your bones,
Until there’s nothing left, I. Shall. Eat.”

An insatiable deadly sin, an end that can’t be seen
The forest’s graveyard is the entrance to madness
Enemies consumed by craving will be destroyed
She’s the chosen woman, the Evil Food Eater

The gardener’s ambitions are too an amusement
Right now we’ll give ourselves over to her
But someday she, too, will be in the stomach
Of the black hearted witch, the Evil Food Eater

Chew it all up!
All of the malice
An eternally unending nightmare
Dark red blood
Is being poured in
The cracked glass

Completely devour it all!
Everything in that world
An eternally unending dinner
Come, let’s begin
Preparation of the
Lost, pitiful intruders

Tirelessly chew it up!
All of the malice
An eternally unending nightmare
Until the day of the ending
That’s bound to come one day,
Let’s continue to party

Abandoned! Cup! Beg! Crawl! Lost! Back! Lung! Ash!
Abandoned! Cup! Beg! Crawl! Lost! Back! Lung! Ash!
Abandoned! Cup! Beg! Crawl! Lost! Back! Lung! Ash!
Abandoned! Cup! Beg! Crawl! Lost! Back! Lung! Ash!

PV TextEdit

If you become lost in the abandoned graveyard
Give praise to the woman who holds the cup
You’d better pray, honor, and kneel to her
If you’re caught by the dead crawling around then it’s over
Losers will have their limbs plucked
Their backs cut open
Their lungs, their guts, and their heart taken away, and eventually
They’ll turn to ashes

TriviaEdit

Conceptualization and OriginEdit

  • The song's English title, "Graveyard party", is a reference to Evil Food Eater Conchita's English title, "Beelzebub party"; in the final verse, the Servants acknowledge their master's machinations as "partying".

CuriositiesEdit

  • In Evils Forest, the song is preceded by an instrumental titled "Welcome to the Forest", using several of the same instruments and sound effects later heard in Master of the Graveyard.
  • At the beginning, middle, and end of the song, the Servants chant the romanized phrase "hai" repeatedly, with the lyrics distinguishing each repetition as a different word written in Japanese kanji.
  • In the Evils Forest booklet, an introduction is seen before the song lyrics, describing the gruesome fate of those who wander in the graveyard; each of the servants chanted words are used in the introduction: deserted, cup, worship, creeping, loser, back, lungs, ashes.
  • Ironically, the Master of the Graveyard only speaks for a small portion of the song during the middle chant, with her servants singing the majority of the song in her stead.
