Following the establishment of the Kingdom of Lucifenia in EC 399, the nation continued to grow as a militaristic power. Sometime in the early EC 470s, Prince Arth planned to ambitiously expand Lucifenia's dominion over the continent. During the preparations, plans were made to invade the nation's neighboring countries. Because the Forest of Bewilderment presented a natural wall against full-scale invasion, Arth decided against warring with Elphegort.
Early in that decade, the Kingdom launched a massive military invasion on Asmodean and Beelzenia. In retaliation, Asmodean began recruiting all able and willing soldiers, regardless of social class, ideology, age, or gender, in order to combat the aggressive yellow kingdom. As Lucifenia's two campaigns progressed, the nation continued to conquer territory from both sides and push forward.
In EC 477, the Babul Desert became a contested battlefield. Asmodean sent the Silver Sparrow and Golden Dragon units to reinforce the battle, hoping for Silver Sparrow Unit to flank the enemy from behind while Golden Dragon Unit assaulted them directly from the Misty Mountains. During the juncture, General Mariam Futapie betrayed her battalion and fled to Lucifenia, switching loyalties to serve under King Arth. After word came of an apparent rebellion, General Shalgham ordered Golden Dragon Unit to make camp at the ruins in the mountain range until they received further orders.
After two weeks of silence, the officers held a war council and determined to wait another day before departing. The General's desire to also destroy the ruins' altar faced opposition from Gast Venom and the soldier deserted after getting into a heated argument regarding Shalgham's religious zealotry. The next night, Shalgham was killed by his step-daughter and Gast was tried six months later for the general's murder and sentenced into exile.
In EC 478, Beelzenia's staff officer, Elluka Clockworker was assigned a mission and hired Gast Venom as her mercenary escort. In EC 480, Elluka defected to Lucifenia and swore allegiance to King Arth in the Sanosun Bridge Oath. Paired with Leonhart Avadonia and Mariam Futapie, the three became active warriors on the Beelzenian battlefront. King Arth had spearheaded an assault on Retasan Fortress and consequently captured the city. Over the course of the decade, Lucifenia successfully conquered much of the Empire's western territories.
At some point, Gast Venom was hired in opposition of Lucifenia and dueled Leonhart on the warfront, eventually defeated by the warrior. In EC 490, a Gula epidemic spread across the Beelzenian Empire, decimating both the civilian and military population. Seeing the opportunity, King Arth mounted another invasion and pushed the assault on the ailing nation with Leonhart, Mariam, Elluka. During the campaign, the Lucifenian King was infected with the Gula Disease and succumbed to the illness the following year. Around the same time, the Beelzenian Emperor was also infected and killed by Gula, prompting his son to replace him as Emperor.

Afterward, Arth was succeeded by his wife, Queen Anne, and the Yellow Country's onslaught decreased significantly over time. Eventually, Lucifenia made peace with Beelzenia. As the years progressed, the Kingdom continued to skirmish with Asmodean and rapidly expand its borders while also increasing national power. Following Anne's death in January of EC 499, her daughter, Princess Riliane, took over her rule and the fighting continued.

In EC 500, Princess Riliane ordered the invasion of Elphegort by cutting directly through the Millennium Tree Forest and the soldiers began burning the forest that night. Although a rainstorm doused the flames prematurely, the invasion continued and cut directly through the partially burned forest into the center of Elphegort. Per Riliane's decree, the Lucifenian began slaughtering all green-haired women on sight, massacring the populace in search of King Kyle Marlon's alleged lover.
The Lucifenian army quickly reached Elphegort's capital city of Aceid and overwhelmed the enemy forces. King Thorny Elphen quickly flee the capital and captured a fortress further north at Merrigod Plateau. The Lucifenian forces immediately followed and captured the city of Toragay just south of Merrigod's Calgaround and the two entrenched forces battled each other for months. While the war dragged on, Lucifenia erupted into a civil war later that year and the resistance negotiated an alliance with Elphegort.
The Lucifenian government quickly recalled its forces at Retasan and Babul Desert to help stem the conflict while awaiting the main force in Elphegort's return. During the return trip, the Lucifenian army was bombarded by Elphegort's forces, slowing their retreat and trapping them within the Green Country. After the resistance forces captured Lucifenian and the royal palace, the exhausted Lucifenian army surrendered and was detained by Elphegort's forces, finally ending Lucifenia's constant fighting with its neighbors.
With Lucifenia's royal government deposed and Princess Riliane seemingly publicly executed, Lucifenia finally ended its years of constant fighting with its neighbors. Afterward, its ally, Marlon, occupied the chaotic nation and established an interim government to help the country rebuild and put down the widespread anarchy. The Elphegort government eventually returned their prisoner's of war from the conflict as a gesture of good will toward the resistance army. Lucifenia was quickly annexed as part of Marlon's territory during the following year, beginning Marlon's imperialism.
In the years after King Arth's death, the Kingdom of Lucifenia was regarded as the most powerful country in Evillious and was feared for its military strength. Due to their part in Arth's campaigns, Mariam, Elluka, and Leonhart were dubbed the "Three Heroes"; they became regarded as legends and gaining renowned status for their victories on the battlefield, inspiring morale with their presence and gaining a legion of followers.
King Arth's ambition and success before his death was believed to be great enough to conquer the entire western side of the continent and unite it under one banner. However, relations with Asmodean and Beelzenia soured for the Kingdom of Lucifenia and tensions along the borders between the nations rose over the decades, passing onto Marlon after it incorporated Lucifenia as part of its territories.
During the final decade of the conflict, the constant change in leadership despite its continual expansion drove the belief that Lucifenia was beginning to decline both domestically and abroad, compounded by the unpopular rule of Princess Riliane during its final years. With the war with Elphegort, public opinion of Lucifenia's regime swiftly dropped and its army's morale also declined, exhausted from the decades of fighting and lack of faith in the war's justification. Even after the revolution deposing the royal government, Lucifenia and Elphegort's relations remained poor for some time.
